Project Coordinator, Chambers-Grundy Center for Transformative Neuroscience, University of Nevada Las Vegas


Elissa Coambs, B.S., is the research coordinator for the Department of Brain Health within the Chambers-Grundy Center for Transformative Neuroscience. She is responsible for assisting with the work flow of the Clinical Trial Observatory by managing meetings and finding resourceful tools for project execution. She also serves as Dr. Cummings' research coordinator who assists with publication management, grant maintenance, and creative outreach duties aimed at ensuring our research resonates with the broader public.

Elissa received her bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Sciences form the University of Illinois in 2011. Prior to working at UNLV, Elissa has had many years of experience with clinical research coordination related to Parkinson's disease. She worked at the Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon as a lead research coordinator for multiple clinical research studies on Parkinson's disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Her expertise ranges from planning, management, and execution, to communication, collaboration, and data collection/management. She has been recognized as one of the best clinical research coordinators in the Parkinson's Disease Research, Education and Clinical Centers (PADRECC) department at the Portland VA. During her time in the Pacific Northwest, Elissa was also the founder and lead facilitator of a neurological disorder support group that provides invaluable aid to the community members across Portland and surrounding areas. This support group is still actively growing and thriving.
